The 20,000 square foot brick building received the "Historic Preservation" award for preservation in 2002. Recent renovations include new plumbing, electrical, and HVAC. It is one of the most significant works of Romanesque architecture in downtown Baltimore, featuring an beaux arts plaster ceiling with Corinthian Columns, 2-story atrium and mezzanine.
The building is prominently located in Center City, just opposite the newly renovated Hampton Inn, Marriott Springhill Suites, Indigo and Residence Inn Hotels.
